The Oakmark International Small Cap Fund primarily focuses its investments on a varied collection of common shares issued by companies situated outside the United States. A significant portion, specifically no less than 80% of its total assets (inclusive of any borrowed capital for investment), is allocated to firms identified as "small cap." This designation applies to companies whose market valuation does not surpass that of the largest enterprise listed in the S&P EPAC (Europe Pacific Asia Composite) Small Cap Index. The fund has the flexibility to deploy capital in non-U.S. markets across the globe, encompassing developing economies. To maintain diverse international exposure, it commits to holding securities from a minimum of five different countries outside the U.S.
